A visit from the goblins

October 31, 2008 Personal

Happy Halloween! I got a surprise visit from my three favorite goblins today so of course I had to photograph them in their oh-so-cute costumes. :) My nephew and nieces know that they have to play along with Auntie's picture-taking for at least a few minutes every time they visit and today was no exception!

| She doesn't like to be photographed longer than 3 seconds max :) |

| Ok, so I can't BELIEVE I'm posting this picture, but Adam thought it was really cool that we could both cross our eyes...and of course some vampire teeth had to be added since it IS Halloween!! (oh my gosh, I'm so embarrassed! haha!) |

Katie & Kevin

October 29, 2008 Engagements

I love this time of year for so many reasons, but I must say, second to the amazing people I get to photograph would be the warm light in October...well, and of course the colorful leaves. :) This is Katie and Kevin who I absolutely LOVE photographing. Their engagement photos were the 2nd time I've had them in front of my camera, the first time being Katie's brother's wedding in September. I can't wait for their big day in June!!
It's just not fall without some leaf throwing! :) |

| Katie is, well, GORGEOUS! |

| ...and they are perfect together |

| I love that golden light! |

Jodi & Mitchell

October 28, 2008 Engagements

Jodi & Mitchell's engagement session was on the perfect day - the leaves were peaked, the sun was just right and the temperature was still relatively mild (although our noses were definitely red towards the end of the shoot!) :) I'm really looking forward to their wedding in June for so many reasons, but the location in particular will be especially unique. You'll have to check back in June to see where it is!! (sorry, I love being a tease sometimes) :)
My personal favorite from the shoot... |

Leah & Patrick

October 27, 2008 Engagements

I have photographed Leah many, many times....Ok, maybe only twice, but it feels like we have known each other for years. :) Leah has been a bridesmaid in a couple of weddings I photographed and in the back of my mind, I always knew I would one day photograph her as a bride.
I am really looking forward to January when I get to photograph Leah and Patrick as they become husband and wife!! |

Our Niece, April

October 26, 2008 Personal

This weekend was very adventurous! We decided to invite our 3-year-old niece (and godchild) over for a sleepover on Friday night and wow, it was so much fun! Between watching princess movies, reading at least 7 books (many multiple times), making chocolate chip pancakes in the morning and kicking up a buck in our backyard, it was definitely a weekend to remember! Yes, you read that right - April and I were walking in the backyard looking at all of the beautifully colored leaves and about 15-feet from us a big buck stood up from behind the bushes in our backyard! Needless to say, we were quite startled! I also should add that we live approximately 5 miles from downtown Minneapolis. :)
Our favorite conversation from the weekend went like this:
Me: "April, what do you want to be when you grow up?"
April: "I want to be a customer!"
April has grown up with cameras in her face and now at the precious age of 3, she has quite the opinion about being photographed...I'll just say that she's become one of my trickiest subjects. :)
Eric grabbed this photo of us in front of our GORGEOUS maple tree. I wish it looked like this all year long! |
