Welcome and thank you for stopping by! My name is Erika and I'm a photographer who is living her dream! As you will see through my photographs, I am constantly focused on capturing real, natural moments and creating timeless images that make you feel something - have it be tears, joy, laughter or even if it simply brings a smile to your face. My ultimate goal is to create images that speak to your soul.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone and happy-almost-18-month-birthday my sweet Alexander!

This morning our little family ventured over to one of our favorite parks and literally chased a flock of turkeys for 2 hours. How appropriate, right?? :) Alex loves turkeys and was gobbling the entire time. As we "ran" up and down the hills after the gobblers I couldn't help but laugh as I was panting like a dog lugging my camera and 7-month pregnant belly through the woods. What a workout!! Alex was in heaven though (and so were we). It's simple mornings like this that I hope I never forget...and I will be forever thankful for.

We are especially thankful this year as we wait patiently for Alex's little sister to arrive. She is due to join our family near the end of January and we just can't wait to meet her. :)

Here are a few photos of our little man this morning (the turkeys kept running away so unfortunately I don't have any blog-worthy photos of them...I wonder why??) :)

Now that Alex is 18-months-old we sometimes get expressions like this....:)

... and we hope your brother doesn't make the face above when you come home with us. :) We can't wait to meet you little girl!!

What a difference a year makes! Last year Alex was SO incredibly easy to photograph. I would just prop his chubby-self up, he'd smile, and I'd snap away. Now, it's an entirely different story. He is CONSTANTLY moving, running (normally sprinting towards my lens) and trying to get into mischief. It's a good challenge for me though. :) A huge thank you to my oh-so-patient husband for helping me chase our little lion (AKA tornado) while dealing with me...the perfectionist photographer. :)

After shooting Kendra & Jake's engagement session, I felt like inviting them over for dinner...and possibly Thanksgiving...and maybe Christmas too. :) These two are just awesome and clearly meant for one another. We had an amazing time (and so many laughs) walking around the Sculpture Garden/Loring Park area in Minneapolis. It was the perfect evening on so many levels.

Thank you for being so fabulous Kendra & Jake! I couldn't be more excited for June 2012!! :)
